sweet scarves

Why in the world do scarves not get more attention? Bless their sweet hearts. They often get overlooked in the wide world of accessories. They keep us warm and they keep us chic when our every day looks have become just that, every day. See what you think! I’ll be posting on Insta this weekend with links to shop.

  1. Neon. Don’t let them scare you off. They’re great for post-workout errands or when you want to feel sporty at the ball park. I have one similar to this one by White+Warren (great winter wear line, BTWs). Aritzia’s neon pink scarf is sold out online but maybe you can find it in a store. I’m bummed I missed it. They do have this Super Puff one that I may add to cart. It’d be perfect on a windy day. J. Crew has this lighter weight knit one that would give a navy peacoat edge.

  2. Red/Pink. I think I have this collection because Christmas and Valentine’s fall during the winter? I’ve mentioned this one from Anthro before. They also have this one that mixes pink and red. I like the fringe and how it’s knitted. If you like soft pink I found this one at Nordy.

  3. Faux Fur. Who doesn’t love a pop of fur in the winter? It’s the perfect cold-weather trimming! Living in a coastal climates scarves are my touch of fur fix. Smaller, pull-through types like this one and this one are ideal for every day. A larger size like this one at Lulu’s makes a perfect evening wrap. Amazon has this one in black and lots of other colors if you want to have fun with it. Fur can’t be serious all the time, right?

  4. Animal Print. A cheetah or zebra print scarf can take basic anything (black, grey, white) and make it fresh. So many times I’m ready to head out and feeling blah, “like this outfit has no pinache”. Thank heavens for my scarf stash and pops of animal print like this, this and this.

  5. Splurge. I first considered a “splurge” scarf when I saw this picture of Olivia Palermo in a personalized Burberry Blanket scarf. I’m not even a big Burberry fan, but this scarf looks rich and warm. I almost went on a campaign to convince Jarrett that I needed Olivia’s scarf, but it was pretty much summer on SSI . . . my beloved blanket scarf is no longer available but there is this one. I like the offbeat color combo and logo. New on the scene is this one by Loveshack Fancy and this one by Kenzo.
