Giddy up homies
I have one hundred percent fallen in love with Nashville. I had another post planned for this week, but can’t contain my excitement. Peak travel season for the Music City is just around the corner. If you’re there, here are my favorite finds.
If you need a place to stay, pleasssse stay at The Graduate. Jarrett and I are in complete agreement that it’s probably one of the coolest (maybe the coolest) hotel we have ever stayed at. AJ Capitol Partners leaves no detail untouched. Our room keys were student I.D.s. The do not disturb signs were pennants. Cowboy boots were woven into the carpet. The artwork at the bar, velvet portraits. The Graduate is a perfect blend of co-ed and cowboy.
12 South, one of Nashville’s quaint neighborhoods, instantly made us feel like locals. Twelve South Taproom and Taqueria Del Sol became our spots. Try Wiseacre’s Adjective Animal at the taproom and the pot pie at Del Sol.
I fanned out when we made it to Uncommon James. It was cool to be in THE spot where they shoot Very Cavallari. I wish Finley and Breaker were small enough for Little James, Cavallari’s children’s clothing line. I wanted this jumpsuit for Finley and this vest for Breaker. I didn’t walk away empty handed though. I got this necklace to layer with this one the kids and Jarrett gave me for Christmas.
Broadway was an absolute blast. I didn’t expect to be so enamored with this Nashville hot spot, but LOVED it. It has this ecstatic-fun energy about it. You can’t help but get that giddy up feeling even if you’re not a country fan. It’s contagious. When you see parties making if from bar to bar via a trailer being pulled by a John Deere you get sucked in to the excitement. Make sure the tractor stops at Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk (get Leah’s Key Lime Pie to drink), Robert’s Western World (you will instantly feel like Johnny Cash or June Carter) and Acme Seed & Feed (music 100%, we heard Teddy & The Rough Riders).
Spend the moola and do the Gray Line Celebrity Homes Tour. It was like cruising your hometown, checking out where so and so lived, but instead the houses were for real, live celebrity homes. I was star struck. I squinted between a gate crack to see Dierk’s Bentley’s Chevy. I stood up and crouched on my seat to get a better glimpse of Tay’s unassuming, ranch-style home. I may have rolled my eyes over Tim and Faith’s $38 million dollar mansion. It was nuts to think we might see a star causally walking their dog or rocking on the front porch (we saw Kelly Pickler’s famous Cracker Barrel rocking chairs).
I could give you so much more info in this #fiveonitfriday post but you’re eyes would get tired. Please email or message me you if have questions. If I don’t have the answer I can reach out to my new IG friend @thenashvillemom. Giddy up homies!
