listen up

I love to read, but have a hard time carving out space to get it done. Enter, Audible. Life changed. Here are my top listens.
Life is Messy, God is Good. I wish I had read this ten years ago. I wish every mom would read it. Perfect mom gift. I ADORE Cynthia Yanof, adore. I listen to her podcast now and she’s lead me to so many other ladies who are doing what we’re doing ya’ll. We’re “momming” in this crazy world and seeking the Lord’s guidance as we do so. This book and her podcast remind me, I’m doing OK, mistakes happen, there’s nothing our God can not redeem. Here are her podcasts: MESSemrrized and Sidetracked (with her friend Heather MacFayden). And speaking of ladies inspiring me to grow closer to the Lord, please go follow Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Fighting Words. I’ve only dipped my toe in this one and I’m already gifting it. I started in November, stopped in December to do an Advent devotional and I’m picking back up in January. Eliie Holcomb is so poignant.
Anxious for Nothing. Max Lucado is a gem. The scripture references are amazing.
Once Upon A Time: The Captivating Life of Caroine Bessette-Kennedy. I’ve “followed” CBK since my teens. I wanted a wedding gown and sheer gloves just like hers. As with all things Kennedy, this book is bittersweet.
Fairy Tale Interupted: A Memoir of Life, Love and Loss. I read several years ago, but it’s so good too. A great read/listen to follow the rec above.
Raising Emotionally Strong Boys and Love Her Well. These are my mom books. Both are super, super insightful and again, I wish I had read them earlier. Please be sure and follow Dave Thomas (along with Sissy Goff) and Kari Kampakis. The guidance and reassurance I’ve received from them this year has been a gift.
One more, actually two. Brooke Shield’s books, Down Came the Rain and There Was a Little Girl. Also love her podcast.
