basket time baby
I love the surprise of an Easter basket, the candy inside not so much. I try every year to keep it to a minimum and keep the kids happy. For Finley this means clothes, for Breaker anything he can get messy with.
I asked Finley what she would love to find on Easter morning and there was no shortage of wants. She needs new sneaks. I mean if you’re going to have to buy them why not use them as an Easter treat? She wants these Gianni Bini mids. She also has her eye on Nike Blazers (now to find her size). No surprise, Lululemon is on the short list. I love these lilac hot shorts (2.5”). Side note, if you’re buying your gal her first pair of Lulus go for a basic black or camo she can wear with everything. Swimsuits, yes please. Finley and I are always shopping for them. I’m surprising her with this one and this one from Dillards. They’re affordable and easy to return if no-go. Also on her list for the bunny, skincare and makeup. Glossier’s beauty bag is the perfect starter kit- lashes, brows and cloud paint (lips & cheeks). I’m going to hit Target, Sephora and Ulta for “candy” size products (the good stuff at check out). Think anything they may need for summer too- sunscreen sticks, lip with an SPF, hair ties, headbands and inexpensive sunglasses (Finley has these).
If I ask Breaker what he wants from the bunny, I would need a loan. He’s all about video games and wants a “big switch”. Working on that, but in the mean time he’s getting stuff that will keep him moving and busy. He didn’t get one of these giant soccer balls for Christmas, definitely getting in the Easter basket. He needs new Natives and/or new Crocs (love this color combo). Bling2O goggles are a win every year. Amazon has this shark pair. Breaker has a few pair that are two-years-old, great product. He still digs a PB Kids hooded towel too (hands free for snacking). While shopping for Fin’s “product” I’ll grab him a pack of Pokemon cards, a dig out the gem block and one of those digemon electronic pet toys. You can find all of these things near checkout at Target.
For all of the candy and Easter theme goodies that you HAVE to have for baskets I hit Walmart and Dollar General. It’s amazing what you can find. Paddle balls, those inflatable balloon things kids love, little crafts, all kinds of treats that don’t cause cavities. If you need a basket and want something a little more than what the big box stores have, check HomeGoods and TJ Maxx. I found cute Peep baskets at HomeGoods that I’m using for my tabletop.
